South America Cruise - Post #10 - Day 2 - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

I started the day by taking the metro to Cinelandia and taking the free walking tour.

The tour was excellent and visited many of the places I wanted to go.

We started outside the Municipal Theater and saw the aqueduct in Lapa, the Selaron steps and ended at the Columbo Cafe. The Colombo Cafe was amazing and I had a couple of desserts. I had seen it on a program about Rio while on a flight and wanted to go. After the nice break I walked to a museum, Cultural Banco do Brasil, which wasn't very impressive.

Above picture was taken inside the Saint Sebastian church. It looks more interesting inside than it does from the outside.

In the afternoon I walked Copacabana Beach and most of Ipanema Beach. In the evening it rained and I went to dinner at a local place - Galeto Sat's - which was on Anthony Bordain's TV show. It's not smart to walk in Rio in the evening, so I took a Uber to and from my hotel. Photos of my dinner are below... don't get the full filet mignon..... you can see how massive it is.
