South Africa Trip - Day 9 [Kruger National Park]

This was a very early morning. We left the hotel at 05:30 to arrive at the gate of Kruger National Park by 06:00.

Our safari vehicle was provided by Eastgate Safari. We had an all-day game drive. We left at 06:00 and returned back at 15:00. We had a 45 minute break for breakfast and an hour for lunch.

We got to see all 5 of the big 5. We actually saw two leopards (I was on the wrong side of the vehicle for our close encounter). The one leopard was walking on the road....apparently it has a fetish for biting vehicle tires. The lions were a bit further away, but it was a large pride. We also saw a large herd of elephants. Some of the more unusual animals we saw were a kudu, springbok (small impala), leopard tortoise, snail and whiteback vulture.

We had some time to rest at the hotel and I used it to edit photos. Dinner buffet at the hotel was included.
