South Africa Trip - Day 1 [Departure from Houston]

My first flight is on United. Their computer wouldn't allow me to check in yesterday, so I didn't get on the upgrade standby list until I arrived at the airport. By that time I was #6 on the list and it was already booked full. At least I'll get free food and a drink on the flight as a consolation prize.

I don't normally bring a carry on bag, but today it is full of camera gear... The Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 lens takes up the majority of the space...

My checked bag (Samsonite tote a ton duffel bag) only weighed 44.5 lbs.

I'll be trying out my new Trtl neck pillow on the flights today. Hopefully it will allow me to sleep.
