River Cruise - Day 19 [Day 15 of Cruise - Disembarkation in Amsterdam, Netherlands]

This morning I finished packing. We left the room at 8:30 AM and had breakfast.

After breakfast I checked out the damage to the ship.

I then dragged my luggage to the Centraal train station then on the ferry to my hotel. Of course the front door to the hotel was broken, so I had to walk around the hotel to the other side. The room wasn't ready so I dropped off most of my stuff and took my camera to explore.

Due to a massive public holiday coming up the Van Gogh museum was sold out until May 5th. I decided to try going to the Royal Palace of Amsterdam. The ticket was only 10 euro and the palace was actually very nice. They allowed photos without flash and had an audio guide that was included. The palace actually used to be the town hall until the French took over and made it into a palace.

I found a dutch pancake restaurant nearby that was highly rated. I ordered the bacon, banana and chili pepper version with lemonade to drink.

After lunch I went back to the hotel to check in and it started to rain, so I took a short break. I'm staying at the Sir A'dam which is a short ferry ride from the central train station. The room was nice and one of the elevators had a disco theme.

I did make a run out in the early evening and got a pizza and beer.
