NCL Mediterranean Cruise from Barcelona - Day 1 - Post # 2 (Barcelona, Spain)

Thanks to my favorite airline (United) my flight landed at 10:32 instead of 07:45.

I rushed to drop off my suitcase at Bags & Go (which will bring it to the ship for me) and catch the Aerobus. I took the Aerobus to Placa Catalyuna and the metro to La Sagrada. Luckily I arrived at La Sagrada Familia in time for my scheduled visit at 12:45. The ticket time was 12:30-12:45.

I paid extra to go up in the tower. About the only thing it was good for was the adrenaline rush because of the spiral stairs to the bottom. There was a handrail on the outside, but nothing on the inside, so if you fell you could fall a long way....

Even though I have been inside before it is still amazing the way the stained glass creates a warming and cooling glow.

I stayed until 14:30 and took the metro to Drassanes metro stop near the port. Because I had some time available I walked to the ship rather than take the T3 port bus for 3 Euro. By the time I got to the ship there was no waiting in line. When I got on the ship my suitcase was in front of my door

We had the mustering drill at 16:30 (I had to go to the theater). During the announcements they mentioned that you weren't allowed to leave anything plugged in unattended.... I guess they are concerned about batteries exploding.

We had an informal cruise critic meeting at the Spice H2O bar at sailaway. I hadn't eaten much in quite some time (seemed like 2 days) and the alcohol hit me pretty hard. I had dinner with a couple of people from the cruise critic group in the main dining room. I selected the prime rib, which was very good.

After dinner and my adventure running around Barcelona I decided to call it an early night and get some rest.
