This time we got to the Imperial Palace as soon as it opened. They have a great guide app (bring your headphones). Since we got there when it opened there was almost no one there.
Poor planning meant we went to the Golden Pavilion next by bus. It was the right direction of travel, but by the time we got there about 100 buses were there too. It made a beautiful place into chaos. You need to arrive *before* they open.
After the Golden Pavilion we too the bus to the bamboo grove. It was a very nice area, although crowded with tourists.

I visited Kiyomizu-dera next. It was hyped up a bit more than I expected. One of the main buildings was covered for renovation.

Because I hadn't seen enough temples on this trip I went to the Inari temple.This was much more spectacular with all the tori gates going up the mountain.
I actually did make it around the summit.

I managed to just barely run onto the train back to Kyoto saving myself 20+minutes had I needed to wait for the next train. There is a food court on the 11th floor of th Kyoto station. We found this place and I tried Yakisoba. It was good, but I need more meat.
The cool thing we found randomly was that the grand staircase has LED lights and illustrates and animates different images.
