Today was proof as to why it wasn't worth spending a couple of more days in Buenos Aires.
I woke up, took the subway 7.5 pesos each way (50¢) to plaza Italia and visited the botanical gardens (free) when it opens at 0930. After that I walked a short distance to the Japanese Garden, which was unfortunately closed because it was Christmas Eve (would have been 70 pesos ($5)) and walked by the zoo on my way back to the metro (zoo would have been 190 pesos ($13)). I took the metro to cathedral, which is near Casa Rosada, but the bicentennial museum was closed. The other museum I wanted to visit was also closed. I bought some water and had lunch at a new fast food place (new for me). I walked up Florida and took a few more pictures of some of thehistoric buildings. I took an uber early to avoid any possible surge pricing. Being that it was Christmas Eve and I've encountered surge pricing in Buenos Aires before I didn't want to pay more than a normal taxi. The taxi fare was 302 pesos ($19.53). I am currently sitting in the Star Alliance lounge waiting for my direct flight home.
