Cuba cruise, Day 2 [Key West, Florida]

Writer's picture: Aaron BoltmanAaron Boltman

I started my day with a behind the scenes tour of the ship. The tour took us to the laundry room, kitchen and backstage in the dressing room of the theater. No photos or video was allowed.

The ship docked at an active military port. We were asked not to take photos while in the port area, so I didn't set up my timelapse video.

We walked to Ernest Hemingway's house. It was originally built by Asa Tift who used to salvage shipwrecks. The house is currently inhabited by 57 cats, some of which have 6 toes. The sailors believed they were better at catching mice if they had more toes.

Here's a picture of one of the 6 toed cats

Below is an interesting building near the southernmost point

The southernmost point marker - there was a long line for photos....

Photo from Irish Kevin's bar. Apparently he isn't there very often, but was while we were. It was a great experience, I highly recommend it.

Hemingway used to drink in the bar that is now Captain Tony's.

A view from the ship while we were docked in Key West.
